From
1990 onwards Consulting & Training for various organisations
Position
Trainer & Consulatant
Responsibilities

The
work was broadly in the area of planning and developing the technological
framework, decision on the kind of software architectures to be
adopted, the platform & language selection and training.
- Short
consulting assignments were done for various organisations, including
Financial Technologies Limited, V.K. Ware, Baysquare Technologies,
VAIDS India Limited, N. K. Electronics. Choudhary International
(now Ace Infotech).
- Acted
as a Project Leader for a team of four in Systems Group at Choudhary
International (1996-1997) for developing Real Time Operating System.
Also acted as consultant in Choudhary for other projects.
- The
consulting assignment with Baysquare Technology was totally involving
all the technological backbone for setting up the start - up &
running the show.
- Other
Consulting assignments involved testing & refactoring the project
code for a very light - weight database (WAMAN), so that it becomes
a robust, reliable product before the release.
- Consulting
projects for Setting up the entire framework which involved Initiation,
Planning, Development & Commissioning blueprint for Educational
Institutes like Sanskar Vidyalaya & St. Rocks School, both located

activities for the youths for their personality development.
1990
onwards : Projects Done
Out of several projects done by Mr. Patkar, a few are mentioned
here.
- REAL TIME OPERATING SYSTEM (RTOS): -
Designed a Real Time Operating System(LSOS) in Choudhary International
as a sub-consultant to SPECS ( Belgium ).The OS was developed
for STB and used by Star TV for their LATAM ( Latin America) project.
The project followed the software process followed by SPECS and
resembled very much famous Xtreme Programming. The role in this
project was multifaceted of that from Software Architect to Coding
of critical parts of OS kernel. LSOS network protocol over I2C
was also developed in this process.
- GEMS: - Graphics Editor
This software was created for facilitating project documentation.
It was having regular graphical cum text facilities. This project
was done for students of Somaiya College who were finding it difficult
to use several tools to complete the project documentation.
CASE: - Cross Assembler Simulator Editors
This software was a project involving students over the span
of three years, (1992-1994) to enhance the efficiency of conducting
the microprocessor lab. It allowed students to work in assembly
language of several microprocessors & micro controllers with simulation
& editing facilities. The project included the flexibility to
reuse the core and add new microprocessors easily through configuration
files.
ROBOTIC CONTOLLERS: -
This project abstracted basic requirements of general robotic
movements and sensory capabilities and generalized the hardware
for the same. The hardware could be controlled by the micro controller
.The development environment on PC allowed customized scheduling
of the movements and developed the target code which could then
be transferred to EPROM for controlling the hardware.
PUBLICATIONS
Mr. Patkar has written papers to help his students technologically
as well as to help them in their personal development. Some papers
are on his web site www.rajeshpatkar.com.
- "Java
is afraid of unions?" - A paper discussing why James gosling
must not have considered union in his language.
- "Inheritance
v/s Containment" - A paper which is mainly discussing the
most important & fundamental concepts Of Object Oriented technology
& the difference between the two & how it should be in the industry
in correct manner ?
- "Java's
Reference - Pointer or Handle?" - A discussion to throw light
on the most common mistake made in understanding the important
concept of Handles in Java which is usually mistook as pointers.
- "Want
to be a core technology person?" - Thoughts on what kind of
subjects or areas of the technologies that is to be mastered by
anybody to become complete technology person.
ACS
Training & Development Centre
ACS
is an Institute dedicated to teaching Core Computer Technologies
to students and professionals. Founded by Rajesh R. Patkar in 1997.
The institute has had the opportunity of teaching hundreds of students
and professionals.
The
teaching philosophy deployed, strives to create in-depth knowledge
about the subject at hand .We believe that depth is essential ingredient
to achieve heights in software development. Students from ACS have
proved the point by their work in industry worldwide.
ACS
tries to provide a bigger picture to their students, the etiquette,
the way of thinking which goes beyond normal technical jargon. With
explosion of information on all the software fronts it is really
becoming difficult for students and professionals to prioritize
subjects to learn and manage time . We believe that long term technical
goals can be achieved not by concentrating on products but on the
core technologies. No doubt products are important and in short
run they can bring good opportunities, but it is like running a
100 meter race. We are running a Marathon so we have to pace our
self, achieve a balance, learn core skills, develop a rhythm and
reach the destination. ACS tries to instill these approach in its
students.
We
welcome you to ACS to share the pleasure of the concepts unfolding
themselves in the mind's eye and experience the simplicity in the
complexity that lies in software.
